Self-declaration of Environmental Commitment for Soilife UK
Soilife is a Shropshire-based start-up intent on revolutionising everyday plant care from the roots up by embracing the power of the microbial community.
We have identified and comply with all environmental legislation relevant to our business activities. Soilife are committed to protecting the environment, preventing pollution and reducing our impact on the environment by:
- Encouraging the recycling of a wide variety of waste streams.
- Using 100% recyclable packaging.
- Reducing travel emissions by using video calls to conduct meetings.
- Sourcing our energy from solar panels.
- Reducing energy consumption by using energy efficient bulbs, turning electrical equipment off when not in use, using sleep features, purchasing lower energy replacement equipment and putting timers on heaters.
- Reducing our use of resources by using duplex and multiple page printing, operating via e-commerce and buying recycled stationery.
- Using eco-friendly products and purchasing Fairtrade products where possible.
- Using public transport whenever possible for work purposes.
- Auditing our suppliers to demonstrate their environmental credentials.
Although we are already demonstrating a reduction in our environmental impacts, over the next 12 months we are also committed to:
- Contributing to charities committed to carbon sequestration and biodiversity.
